I'm not the fastest adopter, but once I understand a technology I can use it. And this is the essence of creating a community. I know Nancy has been busy establishing a progressive community, and I've just begun to realize a community of people interested in issues of intellectual disability as it relates to the history of institutions (see coruway.blogspot.com).
We are also looking on this as an education as we fully engage our project on climate change and what people are doing about it. The project is Now or Never. And it is jumping off from the Union of Concerned Scientists report that looks at local and regional changes that climate change has, and will impel. My feeling is that there is a relationship between the social (and political) climate and the physical climate. As our world changes, as winters are less severe, for example, as summers are hotter, we relate to our world in a different way. And we have a part to play in the changes in our SOCIAL climate.
And such a change is reflected in a new way to relate to one another, for better and worse really.
The immediate response to the notion of getting together is a reflection of this. It’s pretty simple. We have something that brings us together.
